The VIOFO A229 Ultra-W Series is the ideal solution for vehicles where a standard rear camera mounted behind the rear window is not suitable. Thanks to the waterproof 4K rear camera, the A229 Ultra-W is especially suitable for pick-ups, vans, trucks, SUVs, vehicles with tinted rear windows and commercial applications.
This product is available as a 2CH version or as a 3CH version. The 2CH version monitors the area in front of and behind the vehicle. The 3CH version additionally includes a 1080p fisheye cabin camera with an extra-wide 210° viewing angle.
Both versions record in high 4K resolution at the front and rear. This allows important details such as license plates, traffic signs, road markings and situations in front of and behind the vehicle to be captured clearly.
The A229 Ultra-W Series uses modern Sony STARVIS 2 sensors. These provide high light sensitivity, reduced image noise and clearer recordings in challenging lighting conditions.
The 2CH version uses two Sony STARVIS 2 sensors. The 3CH version uses three Sony STARVIS 2 sensors: front, rear and cabin.
The waterproof rear camera is designed for exterior mounting on the vehicle. It features a F1.5 super aperture and is IP67 rated for protection against water, dust, road dirt, rain and snow.
This makes the camera ideal for vehicles where mounting behind the rear window is not possible or not practical.
The A229 Ultra-W 3CH expands recording with an additional 1080p cabin camera. The fisheye camera features an extra-wide 210° viewing angle, allowing it to capture the vehicle cabin as well as the side areas.
The cabin camera is especially useful for taxis, ride-sharing, rental cars, delivery vehicles, family vehicles and fleet vehicles.
The cabin camera of the 3CH version features four IR LEDs and a light sensor. This allows the interior to be recorded reliably even in poor lighting conditions.
The A229 Ultra-W 3CH supports HDR for the front, rear and cabin camera. HDR helps balance strong differences in brightness, for example during night driving, backlight situations, tunnel exits or highly reflective license plates.
The waterproof rear camera can be flexibly mounted on the outside of the vehicle, for example on the tailgate, above the license plate, on the bumper, on the rear door of a van or on a vehicle body.
The A229 Ultra-W is available with different cable lengths for the waterproof rear camera. This allows the camera to be installed neatly even in longer vehicles.
The A229 Ultra-W features built-in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Via the VIOFO app, recordings can be viewed, downloaded and settings can be adjusted. The built-in GPS records speed, location, time and route.
In addition, the camera supports voice control and voice notifications. Important functions such as taking photos, locking videos or turning Wi-Fi on and off can be controlled conveniently by voice command.
⚠ Important Note About Parking Mode
A compatible VIOFO hardwire kit is required for parking mode, for example HK4 or HK6. The hardwire kit is optional and not included in the standard package.
With a suitable hardwire kit, the A229 Ultra-W supports various parking modes, including automatic event detection, time-lapse recording and low bitrate recording. This allows the vehicle to be monitored even while parked.
The package contents differ depending on whether you select the 2CH or 3CH version. The 3CH version additionally includes the fisheye cabin camera and the matching cabin camera cable.
Note: A microSD card and the hardwire kit for parking mode are optional and not included in the standard package.
